The Academic Junior Awards 2024 & Doctoral Awards 2024
In 2024, the Friends and Alumni of the University of Wuppertal (FABU) will award the 44th
Academic Junior Awards totaling up to 5,000 euros sponsored by the Stadtsparkasse Wuppertal
and the
Doctoral prizes of up to 5,000 euros in total, sponsored by the Thomas Meyer Foundation.
The prizes are aimed at students of the university of Wuppertal and are awarded for outstanding scientific and artistic achievements in the context of their studies, which are contained in a written or artistic thesis (e.g. Bachelor's/Master's thesis, term paper in the state examination) or a dissertation.
Applications for the 44th Junior and Doctoral Awards are now open!
General information on the required application documents:

A copy of the respective written or artistic thesis as a PDF for uploading

A short summary of the submitted work (max. 1 DIN A4 page, in German or English).

A tabular curriculum vitae of the applicant.

- Copies of the examiners' reports/evaluations prepared during the examination procedure. Please note that both the first and second examiners' reports must be signed. These can be requested from the Examinations Office or the first examiner with reference to the application for the FABU awards. They are usually sent directly to us.
Please submit the application documents in full no later than
31.07.2024 (receipt of the application)
to the University Communications Office of the University of Wuppertal, Stefanie Schitteck, Room B.07.04a, Gaußstraße 20, 42119 Wuppertal. Unfortunately, no liability can be accepted for submitted work.
The jury consists of members of the FABU board, one member of the rectorate, one professor of the University of Wuppertal, one representative from the business world and two other members of FABU appointed by the board.
The award ceremony takes place during a festive event. The award-winning works will be included in the Bergische Universität archive. In this case, a printed copy of the work must be submitted later.
Please note that the submitted application documents will be deleted/destroyed after the award procedure has been completed.
